I recently took a trip up north to a small town called Graeagle on the Feather River for our annual family reunion. I have been going there my whole life and only just found the history of how the town came to be named "Graeagle". Legend has it that a sweet old lady won a raffle ticket at their local fair that gave her the privilege of naming their town. From then on the town, now population 800, was called Graeagle.
(I saw this deer every day in many different locations. One night she ran right in front of our cabin and stared at me for about thirty seconds. She seemed to always be where I was and let me get within five feet of her one day. We shall meet again next year. )
